The six Swiss charities 

run a company under the name TEXAID-Arbeitsgemeinschaft (TEXAID consortium) with the purpose of collecting clothing, shoes, and household textiles from all over Switzerland. 

The consortium owns the textiles it collects and the brand name TEXAID. It coordinates the interests of the six charities and delegates the collection and recycling of old textiles to  TEXAID Textilverwertungs-AG.

The charities play an active role in the TEXAID collection scheme through the work of their grass-roots organizations.
