20,200 tons of used clothes, shoes and home textiles found their way to the red/white containers and bags of TEXAID all over Switzerland in 2008. That's a rise of 5,1 percent compared to the previous year (19'237 tons). Due to a steady demand for good Swiss second hand clothes the proceeds for the associated aid organizations, Samaritan societies and Kolping families could be increased by almost eleven percent to 2.74 million Swiss francs (2.46 million Swiss francs in the previous year).
