Impressions from the opening ceremony

On 7 February 2008 more than 150 guests celebrated the opening of the most modern textile sorting plant in Europe (perhaps even the most advanced one worldwide).
Bernhard Burger, delegate of the board of directors of TEXAID Textilverwertungs-AG, led through the official items on the agenda.

Greetings from Isidor Baumann, director of economy, who is very proud of being permitted to participate in the inauguration of such a high-tech factory in the small Uri canton.
For Kurt Sutter, president of the board of directors of TEXAID Textilverwertungs-AG, the new sorting plant is a quantum leap and compares to the old factory, like the latest laptop to a typewriter.

Reverend Eduard Birrer, General Praeses of the Swiss Kolping society, put the new sorting plant and the whole TEXAID team under God's blessing with his official consecration.
According to TEXAID director Martin Böschen, lively communication during the working hours is now allowed, as the sorting plant reacts on acclamation and understands every language. One only has to train the computer accordingly.

Elisabeth Böschen-Knecht pushes the start button with verve...
...and the facility starts running.

Every single piece is acoustically announced to the computer...
...goes on its journey on the conveyor belt...

...and is puffed to the correct container by use of compressed air.
Exciting affair...
