Coordinating roadside collections
The Coordination Office for Roadside Textile Collections in Switzerland was set up on the initiative and under the leadership of TEXAID, and its members are the largest collection organizations in Switzerland. The purpose of this coordination is to sensibly plan the collection dates and reduce the administrative costs both for the local authorities – as they only need to deal with one contact partner – and for the collection organizations themselves. All our grass-roots groups and collection partners gain from this: thanks to sufficiently long intervals between the collections, there are larger quantities to collect at lower administrative costs.

TEXAID roadside collections
TEXAID plans, organizes and helps you carry out your activities. You receive a fair market price for the quantities you collect. Promotional materials are provided free of charge. The collection bags are purchased cheaply thanks to bulk discounts and are delivered at cost. Transport is generally by freight train. TEXAID container system
There is an increasing need for permanent disposal of used textiles among the population. The container collection system also has many advantages for TEXAID: larger amounts are collected and the flow of materials is more continuous. Ask about how you, as a TEXAID partner, can benefit.

Payments
TEXAID guarantees fast payment for the textiles you collect, at market rates. When market conditions are good, TEXAID-Arbeitsgemeinschaft also transfers some money each year into a compensation fund which protects our grass-roots groups from excessive price fluctuations when times are hard.
