TEXAID roadside collections

TEXAID carries out roadside collections throughout Switzerland. The red and white collection bags are distributed to all households by the Post Office. Every TEXAID bag has a collection date printed on it.

On the collection date, bags left on through roads are collected by volunteers from the partners (Samaritans, Kolping families and youth groups) or the TEXAID collection team, taken to the nearest railway station and sent by the Swiss railways in freight vans to the sorting facilities.

The partners involved in the collection process receive a share of the proceeds, which they use to finance some of their social work.
