New use for Swisscom's worn-out staff uniforms

When companies purchase new corporate wear for their employees, the question arises as to what should happen to the existing collection. Swisscom has decided to hand over its worn-out uniforms to TEXAID for environmentally sound recycling.

Cardigans, blouses, shirts, ties and foulards - TEXAID checked all the uniforms of the Swisscom shops’ employees at the sorting plant in Schattdorf (UR). Depending on the composition of the material, the garments are then sent to the appropriate recycling process. In this way, the disused items of clothing are given a new use in industry, for example as cleaning cloths or insulating materials. The garments remain in the textile cycle and can thus save resources, chemicals and energy.
