Used clothes collection with underground containers

In densely-populated areas of larger communities and towns, the trend is increasingly towards space-saving disposal systems. Underground containers offer a clean and aesthetically pleasing solution to handling waste products in a hygienic way.

These days, underground systems are used in many towns in Switzerland to collect refuse or glass. At many collecting points there is a reserve shaft that stands empty. As an innovative company that promotes ecologically and economically sound used clothes collection, TEXAID would like to utilize this potential for collecting clothes. In order to meet the system-specific requirements, it has developed an underground solution for valuable used textiles in collaboration with the Ticino-based company Mondini.

"The Ticino-based family company Mondini was founded in Tesserete in 1952. Thanks to our many years of experience in the field of underground disposal systems in Switzerland and other European countries, we are specialists in underground collecting containers." Stefano Mondini, Mondini SA

The TEXAID underground container is installed below ground level, the only part of it visible on the surface being the ergonomical throw-in column that’s accessible to disabled persons as well as being childproof thanks to a double hatch. An initial pilot project in the community of Adliswil was positively received.

Interested local authorities with free shafts can contact info@texaid.ch or phone 041 874 54 00. We would be happy to advise you!
