Hungary balance sheet & climate management planned from: fiscal year 2020 Bulgaria balance sheet & climate management planned from: fiscal year 2020 TEXAID Switzerland has created a systematic cli- mate and environmental management system in accordance with the internationally recognized standards ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Ma- nagement Systems) and ISO 14064-1 (Greenhouse Gas Balance as per the Greenhouse Gas Protocol). This system allows for environmental impacts to be measured at periodic intervals and to be reduced within the framework of a continuous improvement process. When it comes to collection of textiles, the trans- portation and the emissions which are connected to it are being considered, such as fuel and exhaust gases, dust, heat and noise. In Switzerland, fuel and exhaust gases are monitored by the country’s cli- mate management system. Dust emissions on the other hand are restricted by diesel particulate fil- ters to comply with the legal requirements of Euro- pean emissions standards. Heat development due to friction, energy loss during trips and noise emis- sions are of coursemajor environmental factors but cannot be measured in quantifiable figures. Fur- thermore containers and collection bags are being used during collections whose production, use and disposal also have an impact on the environment. 31
