Switzerland Since 2015, focus areas have been defined for each department in Switzerland. In 2016, the Depart- ment of Work Safety and Health Protection was asked to tackle “Tripping and Falling,” while in 2017 it addressed “Safety Outside the Workplace.” The Environmental Management Department trained its employees on “Environmental Management Systems per ISO 14001:2015” in 2016, and on “Consumption and Waste” in 2017. Ecological sus- tainability workshops are being also conducted as required, mainly in conjunction with communica- ting their contents externally. The goal of these workshops is to raise employee awareness and to encourage sustainable behaviour in and outside of the work place. A systematic accident management system allows the safety manager to help HR come up with sui- table measures for reducing accidents both in and outside the workplace. TEXAID also supports and finances the individual vocational and continuingeducationprograms that are required by local legislation. In 2017, courses and continuing education classes were offered on export, leadership and foreign languages. Ultimately regular strategy and environmental workshops are conducted with all the employees at all locations as part of the company’s strategy process and environmental and climate policy. Germany To make the company’s personnel processes more professional new employee regulations are being developed and processes are being digitalized. In the future application management, travel ex- penses and payrolls will be computerized. Towards the end of 2017, employee surveys were conducted in the second-hand shops. Focus of the surveys were work conditions, job satisfaction and health at the workplace. Employees are also regu- larly briefed on work safety and health protection by the ASA (Occupational Health and Safety Com- mittee). The company has teamed up with health insurance companies to establish framework agreements on workplace health management. In 2017 health in- surance companies began to support TEXAID with the following programs (translated from German): “Healthy Management Culture,” “Athletes Moti- vating Employees,” “Online Coaching for Dealing with Stress,” “Work Situation Assessments,” “OIM Process Consulting,” “Age-Appropriate Work,” and the fitness program “Active Breaks” offered during working hours. At the end of the survey, TEXAID Germany will receive a comprehensive evaluation with corresponding recommendations for action.
