Textiles (51 % participation) / Tangier Overview: Operating companies of the TEXAID Group The collaboration of the charity organizations com- bined their previously separate clothing drives and thus facilitated the development of a professional and resource optimized value chain. The six chari- ty organizations are organized in the “TEXAID Ar- beitsgemeinschaft” (work group) and own 50% of the shares in the company. Based in Schattdorf/Switzerland, TEXAID has grown steadily and is one of the leading textile recycling companies in the world as well as having sub- sidiaries in Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary and Morocco. We specialize in the collection, sorting, and recycling of used textiles and we are a partner for retailers, recyclers and manufactures worldwide. ABOUT TEXAID TEXAID Textilverwertungs-AG was founded in 1978 as a charity private partner- ship by the Swiss Red Cross, Winterhilfe Schweiz, Solidar Suisse (SAH), Caritas Schweiz, Kolping Schweiz, the Relief Organization of the Protestant Churches of Switzerland (HEKS) together with a private industry-partner. 6
