Company profile

TEXAID has been combining ecological and social responsibility as a charity-private partnership since 1978.

Today, TEXAID is one of the largest organisations in Europe carrying out the ecological collection, sorting and recycling of used textiles and shoes. At the parent company in Switzerland and at our locations in Germany, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, and the USA, a workforce of over 1,000 people generates funds for the associated aid organisations. In so doing they make a direct contribution towards financing and implementing charity and social projects.

TEXAID has a clear commitment to both ecological and social sustainability. Consequently, TEXAID Switzerland has a very good ecological balance sheet as issued by Carbotech AG, a company which specialises in environmental matters. TEXAID is also the only textile collection organisation with ISO-9001-certified quality management throughout all levels of the company. TEXAID guarantees ecologically high-quality and socially sustainable collection, sorting and recycling of the highest professional standard. In 2015, TEXAID Textilverwertungs-AG in Switzerland was awarded the Swiss Climate 'CO2 Neutral' quality seal. This award is only granted to companies that implement a comprehensive and sustainable climate protection policy.
